As the miles between Colorado Springs and Minnesota shortened quickly, we had ourselves some great laughs at the fun display of innocent flirting going on between two men (patrols) and two women. That’s all it was, but it gave us just enough entertainment along the way. After all, two chicklets, mom and daughter no less, cruising down the road in a pretty little white Mustang was a little hard to resist by male drivers. Little did they know of the pain residing in my heart, in my soul. That I was on my way home to my roots to find myself. To learn how to be just me. Not a mom, or daughter, or sister or wife. Just me! Janie Lynn Peterson. A middle-aged woman having to find her place in the world now that all had changed.
